ABSTRACT:
Suicide is the third leading cause of death for adolescents, and students with a high incidence disability may be at an increased risk for suicidal ideation and suicide attempts than students without a disability. In this article, information is provided regarding suicidality as it pertains to students diagnosed with high incidence disabilities. In addition, identification and intervention strategies forå special education teachers are discussed. The identification and intervention practices will be illustrated through a case study of a hypothetical student.
