Mapping state cultural policy in the State of Washington: A look at the land-based agencies
Abstract
This report examines the explicit and implicit cultural policies revealed through the programs and actions of the land-based agencies of the State of Washington. The investigation articulates the extent to which culture is infused in the policies and programs of an unlikely group of state players and agencies. These include agencies such as Parks and Recreation, Transportation, and Natural Resources. The research is part of a larger project designed to "map" the legislation, programs, and policies of a broad set of state-level agencies thus providing a new lens through which to view the role of culture in the State.
